Camping, Boating and Fishing in Show Low

Show Low, located in the mountainous region of northern Arizona offers some of the best fishing, along with beautiful camp sites in a cool and beautiful setting.

Show Low Lake Campground:

This 100 acre lake sits at 6500 feet and has everything you need for camping and a day of fishing.  At 33 to 50 feet deep, this lake offers fishing for beginners as well as experienced anglers.

  • Boats are allowed on the lake. Horsepower is limited to a max of 10 whether gas or electric
  • The Show Low campground rents 14’ aluminum boats with 8 horsepower
  • For 10 and older you will need a state fishing license or trout stamp.

With the best walleye fishing in Arizona, Show Low Lake boasts five (5) walleye state records including a 16 pound 2ounce walleye.  Other fish that are in Show Low Lake include:

  • Smallmouth bass
  • Bluegill
  • Rainbow trout
  • Channel catfish
  • Largemouth bass
  • Green sunfish
  • Because the lake doesn’t get weedy, trout fishing from shore is always possible. Fishing for walleye is best in the spring and fall.  Fishing near a dam or by rocky bottom structures is best.  Catfish have been caught as big as 32 pounds.  Fishing for these bottom dwellers is best on summer and fall nights.

Our campground at Show Low Lake has 75 sites and is open year round.

Our campsites have fire rings, picnic tables and barbecue grills.  Show Low Lake is a great area, right near town to explore the city and visit the restaurants and shops.

Fool Hollow Lake

This 150 acre lake located just outside Show Low offers year round fishing, camping, boating and picnicking.  It is surrounded by 100 foot pine trees at a cool elevation of 6300 feet.  This U.S. forest service facility has everything to make your camping or fishing experience the best.

This state of the art facility is located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.  It was discovered in 1885 and officially opened as a recreational park in 1994.

Fool Hollow Lake offers great fishing and modern camp sites along with handicap and modern accessible restrooms.

With 92 electric hook-up sites and 31 non hook-up sites there is plenty of room for campers.

There are two fish cleaning stations and six fishing platforms, along with Show Low Creek flowing into Fool Hollow Lake:

All inhabit this beautiful lake.  Swimming is allowed in this lake at your own risk.  A boat launch is available with a limit of 10 h.p. on the boats.  Canoeing and kayak rentals are also available on site.

Silver Creek Hatchery

Just 5 miles outside Show Low, this 840 acre wildlife area includes fishing and hunting and is open to the public.  Fishing along the creek is a fun experience for a novice or more experience angler.

Trout fly fishing is an adventure you will never forget with some trout weighing 10-12 pounds.  The creek has rainbow and apache trout and the fishing is good all day.
